Can my patients' privacy be compromised by using Check-In App?

No. Check-In App is built so that patient information is never collected, transmitted, or stored at any point.

When a patient checks in, the only notification you receive is a text message that reads: "CHECK-IN-APP IO: Your client has arrived at [time] on [date]." No patient name. No phone number. No identifying information of any kind.

Think of it as a digital knock on the door — it simply tells you someone is in the waiting room, nothing more. Even if your phone were lost or your account were compromised, there would be no patient data to expose.

Your patients can check in with complete confidence that their privacy is protected.

Can I use this client check-in system if I rent office space by the hour?

Absolutely! Because Check-In App requires no hardware or equipment - just a printed or displayed QR code- it works perfectly for therapists and practitioners who rotate between office spaces or rent by the hour. Your QR code goes wherever you go.

How long does setup take?

Just a few minutes! Sign up, fill out your practice details in your dashboard, and your custom check-in page goes live instantly. Download your QR code and you're ready.

Will clients be able to see my phone number?

Your personal phone number is never visible to your clients. It is only used on our backend to send you an SMS notification when someone checks in. All your clients see is your name, photo, and title on the check-in screen.

Is Check In App HIPAA compliant?

Check-In App was designed with HIPAA compliance in mind from day one. Our system does not collect, store, receive, or transmit any Protected Health Information (PHI). When a client checks in, no names, health information, or identifying details are involved. The only action our system takes is sending a generic, fully de-identified SMS notification to your provider. Our infrastructure runs on AWS, which maintains a HIPAA compliance program.

Do I need any special equipment?

Nope! Just a smartphone or tablet with a camera for your clients to scan the code. We generate the QR code for you and provide instructions for printing or displaying it.

Can I customize the check-in screen?

You can add your own background photo, logo, and provider headshots directly from your dashboard anytime. Changes take effect immediately.

Can I update the providers myself?

Yes! You have full control through your dashboard. Add, remove, or update providers anytime — no need to contact us. We’re always here to help if you run into any issues.
